Allies Network throughout the year organised and delivered FGM training to students from Year 8 and up in various schools within the West Midlands.
All the students got Initial FGM training and we selected school champions that got more extensive FGM and leadership training.
The students learned to raise awareness, spot the signs of girls at risk and where to refer FGM victims.
“I will be studying pediatric nursing in the university and pursuing a career in nursing. Some children I will be treating may be at risk of having FGM done to them. By going through this training it informed me more and built up on my existing knowledge of FGM.”
“I might have a friend who might have FGM. So I need to know what FGM is to help her.”
